US Seller looking to expand to EU

My mom did pretty well for herself on Amazon this year and wants to expand to Germany where he has business contacts. Does anyone have experience selling domestically and moving into international markets, specifically EU countries? If so - what were the steps you took to ensure everything was in order, specifically when it comes to setting up or registering any corporate entities in the EU. Any tips appreciate.
