Is Keyword Tracking Basically Pointless?

I have always been a big fan of tracking keyword Rank for my products as an indicator of performance.

I use Helium10 & Eliteseller, and track a few hundred keywords per product. Recently though I have been doing some testing and I see zero correlation between my rank (and expected estimation of clicks) and actual number of sessions....
